Half-Day Acting Intensives - May 21st

Morning program (ages 10-13): 9:30-12:30 - $75/student Afternoon program (ages 13-18): 1:00-4:00 - $75/student Location: North Hollywood These workshops will focus on the foundations of acting technique and beginning improv. Using a variety of exercises and some simple scene work, I will go over with students how to identify what your character wants in a scene, how they go after it, and how you as an actor can connect to how the character thinks and feels. Through improv games and exercises students will learn the crucial improv tenets of saying yes and finding confidence in your ideas. Come have fun, get to know me, and and learn a lot! |

Summer Two-Week Acting Intensives for Kids & Teens

Session #1: June 12th-16th & June 19th-23rd, 2023 (M-F)
Morning program (ages 10-13): 9:30am-12:30pm - $650/student Afternoon program (ages 13-18): 1:00-4:00pm - $650/student Session #2: July 10th-14th & July 17th-21st, 2023 (M-F) Morning program (ages 10-13): 9:30am-12:30pm - $650/student Afternoon program (ages 13-18): 1:00-4:00pm - $650/student Location: Classes will take place in North Hollywood at Madilyn Clark Studios. Students will study how to break down a script, connect with a character, and employ the body and voice to give a great performance. Students will be assigned scenes through which they can explore the techniques they are learning, culminating in a performance on the last day of class. Each day will also incorporate improv games and exercises to help students relax, build confidence, find their voices, and trust their own great ideas. Payment reserves you student's spot in the intensive, but additional registration and adherence to studio rules is required for participation. If for any reason student is deemed ineligible to participate before the commencement of camp, full refund will be issued. Studio will be in touch with additional information after receiving payment. |

Improv is the highly entertaining and challenging art of making up performance on the spot. Studying improv helps you learn how to listen deeply, be present, trust your own ideas, use your voice, express yourself, take risks, release failure, and develop your sense of humor - both on and off stage. Over this week, students will study the basic tenets of improv through a wide range of games and exercises. The week will culminate in a performance on the last day of class. Payment reserves you student's spot in the intensive, but additional registration and adherence to studio rules is required for participation. 9:00am-3:00pm - $550/student This summer, Nicola Vann Studios is excited to be doing a one-week residency at the Riekes Center in Menlo Park, CA, teaching an intensive for middle and high school aged students on acting technique & improv. The Riekes Center is a community center in the heart of Silicon valley committed to "the enhancement of the individual student." With the mission "to provide each student with the best possible opportunity to define and accomplish individual goals, build character and learn transferable life skills through Creative Arts, Athletic Fitness and Nature Awareness, in an environment of non-judgment and mutual respect.
